This Stevens manufactured fourth variation receiver is for the Crack Shot-26 single shot rimfire rifle and is in very good condition retaining a healthy amount of original case colors with the balance exhibiting a pleasing grayish brown patina with a few specks of light rust. Fourth variation receivers were originally color case hardened, feature the circular "SVG" logo on the left side and designed to accept pins instead of threaded screws to support the parts related to the receiver. This is the only part on the Crack Shot-26 rifle that is tracked as a firearm therefore it will need to be transferred through a dealer. Receivers do not qualify as a C&R based on BATFE's guide lines. (file photos)

Date of Manufacture: circa 1940.

Note: Fourth Variation receivers were manufactured by Savage and require the late variation 10x32 threaded stock bolt and the late variation stock bolt nut.

Note: we have observed 1 Crack Shot-26 rimfire rifle having a 22" long barrel and a straight grip stock with a fourth variation receiver.
